The Pickfather
He made picks that couldn't be refused

Full blooded Italian Frank Fiori grabbed the week 2 cash with a fine 14 pick performance. Though it has been over 8 years since Mark joined "The Family," this is the first year that his father-in-law Frank has joined the pool. He didn't waste any time making a name for himself, much like his rookie counterpart and week 1 winner Brian Webb. Webb still holds the overall lead at 25, but MFP veteran and 2005 champ John Wyeth and several others are right on his tail. When asked about the week two champion, Mark simply said... "my father-in-law made me an offer I couldn't refuse!"

The New Guy!
Rookie Brian Webb plays the leading role in week 1

Week one of the 2006 NFL season delivered a Monday night double header running into the morning hours of Tuesday. Luckily, for MFP players, week one was as good as over when the Redskins missed a field goal in the final seconds of the early MNF game. Out of the four 2006 MFP rookies, Brian Webb is at the head of the class after week one. Webb, brother-in-law to Chad Pitts, just edged him out this week as he gave the MFP field the New Guy "CRAZY EYES" and takes home the week one cash.

The Best of 2005
Clockwise from top, Wyeth, Carleton, Gransden, Field and Restauri.

After leading for most of the year, John Wyeth, despite only sharing one weekly victory, was able to grab the 2006 MFP title. Rob Restauri finishes in second, and remarkably has made the top four each of the last four years he has played. Rounding out the top five are Sean Carleton at number three, and Rookie players Mike Field and Shane Gransden at 4 and 5. This years Mr. Irrelevant (week 17 winner) is none other than "Mr. Perfect" Jeff Jacobs, who won his second week assuring positive cash flow for the season. 2005 will be remembered for a year of missed picks. A record number of players failed to make their picks before the deadline this year. With the 2006 season, MFP officials will make some changes to the rules that should please all players. It has been a great year and we look forward to having all of you back next year... especially those of you at the bottom... you know who you are!

What a Seamus!
Santa Rob got his Christmas present late Monday Night!'
'Twas the night before Gameday,
when out on the field
all eyes saw it shining,
the MFP shield.
The players entered
their weeks picks with care,
in hopes that a victory
soon would be theirs.
Wyeth was nestled
all snug in his bed,
while visions of dollar signs
danced in his head.
And Restauri in second,
Carleton at three,
knew they were cashing
and all filled with glee.
When from out of nowhere
arose such a clatter,
all players logged on,
to see what was the matter.
They opened up windows,
and went to Sportsline
clicked on the standings
to see what they'd find.
Most of the players
thought he'd had no chance,
when Dave got the news,
he crapped in his pants.
But due to the tiebreak,
Seamus,lost the week,
and his overall outlook
is dreary and bleak.
When Restauri was asked
about the week 16 win,
his face slowly turned
to a most evil grin.
And we heard him exclaim,
as he counted his cash,
"Merry Christmas to all,
you can all kiss my A$$!"

King Kong Schaubroeck
Dave bodyslams the competition for a second straight week!

A run. A streak. These could be two terms referring to marks left in a pair of boxers following a night of drinking and an accident at the port-a-john. Nope, not this time, we promised. A run, a streak, that's what Dave Schaubroeck is on in the MFP. Dave won his second week just 7 days after his first. Schaubroeck is still seemingly out of range for the top spots, but with his second win, secures positive cash flow for the season. The boys at the top remain the same heading in to the final two weeks, and we have learned from years past that anything can happen. As guys with a glimmer of hope make rash, high risk/high reward decisions, and the top guys play it safe, we could have the potential for a lot of movement before it's all said and done. One more time, could we have your attention please, (Cambisi and Riley, this means you!) There are games on Saturday this week, the bulk of them actually, due to Christmas falling on Sunday. It would be a real shame to see someone fall out of the overall running simply because they didn't make their picks on time, heck just ask Mike Field! Good luck all, and have A Merry MFP CHRISTMAS!!!

Not So Crappy!
Dave's week 14 celebration got a little , umm, messy!

This weeks winner is brought to you in part by Depend Undergarments, the official adult diaper of the MFP. Well, Dave Schaubroeck won the MFP main page poll, and now in week 14 he grabs the cash. We cannot be sure, but we think Dave may be using his winnings to shop for new boxers. This story officialy marks the LAST time those of us at MFP will be poking fun at Dave's loose bowels. We are winding down this years campaign, and once again we see John Wyeth atop the leaderboard. Rob Restauri is running a close second , but the top 5 is far from set in stone. If your on the edge, now is the time to take a chance and make your move. While the top dogs are playing their prevent defense, maybe you can convert on 4th & 26... just ask the Packer fans. As a friendly MFP reminder, there are 3 games on Saturday this week, therefore the pick deadline is at 12:00pm EST time this Saturday, no Cambisi's this week, OK?

Pro Picker!
Now in stores, Rob Restauri's newest Best Seller!

Now in stores, just in time for Christmas, Rob Restauri's new book, "An idiot's guide to picking football games like a pro!" If anyone could write a book on picking, Restauri could. Rob has been a fixture atop the MFP standings the past three years! Why should 2005 be any different. With only four weeks left in the season, it doesn't look like he'll disappoint. With a fine performance of 15 this week, Rob edged out Mike Field and D. Long with the Monday night tie breaker due to the Eagles lack of scoring. Question... in week 13, what did Big Red Riley and his favorite team (Eagles) have in common? Answer... neither one showed up!!! With his fine performance, Restauri pulls himself in to a tie for the overall lead with, you guessed it, John Wyeth. If only Mike Field had made his picks last week, he would surely be in the mix after receiving a 6. In other news, MFP sources called Rob Pitts prior to the Thanksgiving games to remind him to make his picks. He did, and jokingly said that he would probably do better by not picking... well, he was right! Rob Pitts would have got 7 right if we had just left him alone! Oh well, we try.
