Almost Perfect!
Cambisi prepares for his pre-pick ritual!

Earlier this year Jeff Jacobs logged a perfect 14 correct picks. Now, with the bye weeks a thing of the past, 16 is the number we are all striving for. No one in MFP history has gotten 16 correct, though several have reached the 15 point mark. Add two to that list this week as, and this is NOT a typo, Anthony Cambisi and Patrick Styles delivered outstanding picks. The Oakland Raiders were the only thing standing between these two and MFP immortality. Unfortunately, for Styles, the record tying week gets him, well, nothing after losing the tie breaker to Cambisi. Styles' performance up to this point has been dismal and unless he posts these kind of stellar numbers from here on out, it is unlikely that he will be able to place near the top. Cambisi also still finds himself near the middle of the pack, but at least he pockets the $25 which will undoubtedly go to restock his beer fridge. Once again, John Wyeth remains in the lead with a four point cushion. Though he has only won $12.50 with a shared win so far, Wyeth has a bigger prize in mind.

Riley Rules Again?
Big Red gets his weekly picks from his wife Stacy!

In week 10 of the 2003 season, Brendan Riley edged out Jim Demeniuk with the tie breaker to win the weeks cash. This week, the first name is all that changed as Brendan once again defeats a Demeniuk (Tommy this time) to take the weeks cash... or did he? MFP sources have learned that Brendan Riley has in fact been getting help making his picks. We can't blame him. Since his breakout performance in 2002, we have seen only flashes of what made Big Red an MFP legend. Though it is still under investigation, initial reports lead us to believe that the weeks check will be made out to none other than Brendan's wife, Stacy Riley. Despite the fine performance, Stacy, errr Brendan still finds himself in the middle of the pack, along with everyone else, still chasing leader John Wyeth. Keep Stacy on your payroll Big Red, it's obvious you need her!

Old School Champ!
Coach Nortin finally gets another win under his belt

Bryan Nortin won the inaugural season of Mark's Football Pool in 2000. After an average year in 2001, he took some time off. He's back in 2005 and week 10, Bryan made his way back in to the winners circle. He did so by winning the tie breaker over Mike Field, who has lost in the tie breaker each of the past two weeks and Anthony Cambisi, who led going into the Monday Night Game but lost due to the Eagles inability hold the lead. Both Nortin and Field have really come on the last several weeks and find themselves in the top ten. John Wyeth still holds the overall lead, but saw that lead shrink by one this week to 4. Next up is week 11 and the bye weeks are no more. Each of the remaining 7 weeks will feature a full schedule of 16 games. Who will be the first to go a perfect 16-0? Can John Wyeth maintain his lead down the stretch? Only time will tell!

Sick of Losing!
Sean Carleton passes Demeniuk, Wyeth & Field to win the tie breaker!

When Sean Carleton joined the MFP in 2003, he captured a victory in week 1. Two years and two inches of receeding hairline later, he finally grabs win number two thanks to a high scoring Monday Night matchup. Sean edged out Jim Demeniuk, Mike Field and overall leader John Wyeth, who extends his lead to 5. With eight weeks left to go, there is still time to make a move, but it's officially go time! When asked about his week 9 win, Sean said "I thought of disputing your record keeping, as I did have a 3 way split victory in 2004, however I believe one of the folks was Schoffler, so that should not count as a victory, as my 6 year old makes better picks ." Point taken.

Hallo Weiners!
Naro and Wyeth are Top Dogs in week 8!

Neither of the week 8 winners is a stranger to the MFP winners circle. Wyeth has won his fair share of cash over the last few years and Naro grabs his second week since joining the pool in 2004. With Christmas just around the corner, Wyeth will likely use his cash on his three little girls. MFP officials had to do a little digging to find out how Mr. Naro would be spending his cheese. Now, we can only speculate, but we think his girlfriend Lisa may post a gold star on the fridge for his weekly performance, along with his other chores. Ahh, who are we kidding, Lisa, enjoy the money! Wyeth also makes a leap into the overall lead where he enjoys a 3 point cushion over the competetion.
